Im a gay guy from Sri Lanka & my boi friend is in europe. Can gay long distance relationships work? Ideas?

We,ve known each other fr 6 months before he had to leave. we are both sri lankan & he works fr this foreign company in europe; I`m quite inseucre but(!) don`t want to no 1 else but(!) him to share forever with. He is the epitome of being sure & says that It`s me who doesnt have faith. Well we both love each other very much. & he is gonna be real busy fr while so even regular correspondence might be tough initially. Any ideas on how we can make this work? he might be gone fr as long as 2 years with annual or half yearly breaks; I would love to visit him but(!) It`s so tough fr an asian like me to get visas. no matter how genuine. I would appreciate comments from all. Thanks.

mensexonly 		My gf & I were apart for a month & half at the beginning of our relationship. It was hell, but(!) 4 years later, we`re still together. I think it can work, you`ll just have to find a way to keep in touch

gaykerk 		Sraight or gay relationships are same & yours is no differnet ; It all depends on the individuals. but(!) in most experiences straight or gay. the distance doesnt work for most

twinklover 		well it could work. My friend (who was girl) kept her relationship in tact when her boy friend was abroad for 3 & a half years. They met for holidays but(!) other wise it was phone calls, emails, chat & stuff. If it`s the real thing, it`ll work

serenity 		Heyy I`m from SL too, & with my experience id say long distance can work but(!) both parties should have same desire & will to work it through, & if only 1 party is committed to make things work then you better forget abt the whole thing

torogay 		Well it could work. but it is really tough; Long distance relationships do not have great success rates

bobdilan 		When you are together, you are together, in love.
When you are apart, you still must have a life & some sort of physical release.

There is a difference between love & sex, although it is nice when both are together.

What you do when apart, you do not discuss with each other.

Unless you can come to an `understanding` for period he is away, I see no future in the relationship.
