Because laws won`t get changed unless they protest. They`re potentially sacrificing their freedom so that others like them can have rights they deserve

Let`s say that you`re black, & they make law where it`s illegal to be black. Are you telling me that you wouldn`t protest?

I wonder if anyone told the lawmakers of India that at least ten percent of those sitting in government with them are (likely closeted) gays

It is okay. You would be protesting if it was illegal to be heterosexual- everyone should be allowed to love whom they choose

Do you really think your disrespectful questions (comments, really) are having an effect on anyone?

You are just wasting your time & bandwidth (and ours) to no purpose.

If the law in India wasn`t so discrminatory & disrespectful to gay people, they wouldn`t feel need to protest their unfair treatment.

I would expect that kind of repressiveness from a country ruled by Muslim fundamentalist religious extremists, not from the largest, multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-religious democracy on the planet

What is purpose of protest?

n. (prtst)
1; a formal declaration of disapproval or objection issued by a concerned person, group, or organization.

If people didn`t think their was something inhibiting their person freedom, protests would be useless
