Is being gay now legal in India?

I`m slightly confused as to the issue; whether relevant law is under discussion or is it has been scrapped after the 2nd pride parade yesterday.

gaynudist 		It`s an old British law passed by colonial rulers. Just don`t expect Muslim Indians,Pakistanis or other Muslim minorities to be happy about the appeal. the government won`t have an issue with it, but(!) this is just 1 of a million problems India faces today;

It will more then likely be stalled or passed(but with much friction & bureaucratic red tape)

mensexonly 		As far as I can see, it`s still illegal.
But they are planning to bring the relevant law under consideration.
`officials said that the country was planning to repeal a law against homosexuality that was introduced by the British almost 150 years ago; `

torogay 		I haven`t even seen any news on this with MJ`s news.

From what I`ve heard on blog(not that credible though)the government was ignoring them. But I`m clueless on this
