Can the New York gay scene compare to South Beach?

I am gay male & I have lived in Miami all my life. South Beach is the only place in Miami where I feel comfortable being out; Now I am moving to New Jersey, close to New York, & I wonder if anyone can tell me if the gay scene in New York can compare to South Beach. Thanks.

twinklover 		It`s 1 of most vibrant in world, but(!) it`s whole different vibe from Miami & South Beach. Urban in a whole different way. Less emphasis on the sun & beautiful people. Colder, windier, snowy. No nice ride needed - take the subway or a cab. You should feel just as comfortable being out, no 1 in New York will give a rat`s butt about the fact that you are gay, or about you in general unless they know you; It`s not unfriendly, but(!) it`s faster-paced; There are gay people everywhere you go in New York.

And New Jersey is also very gay-friendly - they have a strong civil-union law, & could well be next state to pass gay marriage

I live in Miami but(!) not in South Beach; What`s the gay scene like in Sobe? Is there a party there every night or something?

I`ve never lived in NY, but(!) I would think that there`s better selection of men in Sobe than in NY. NY is probably just full of Italian-American guys & Puerto Rican guys
