gay marriage in paris?

okay,
so idk if It`s legal or not.
but if it isnt.

what would happen if you had your wedding in paris & brought a preist that was all for gay marriage to paris to have your wedding, then go back to whatever country your from.
would that be allowed or no?

i live in canada;
so if I do
do that, then come back to canada.
would it still be a legal marriage?

gopbol 		A priest doesnt matter to a marriage only legal document, acquired from a court or city Hall validates your marriage. You could get civil marriage in country or region where it is legal & then have the ceremony in france, which is completly legal;
EDIT: you could not get the marriage certificate in france because gay marriage is not legal there however you can get the certificate in canada & have cermony in france

jimmygay 		gay marriage isn`t legal in france, but(!) civil unions are;

some countries will view marriages that take place in other countries as legit, some won`t; the USA does not accept gay marriages from other countries, & many states do not accept gay marriages that took place in other states (ie if you got married in california & then moved to montana, you wouldn`t be considered legally married anymore once you left california state lines)

gopbol 		I don`t know if is recognized as legal in Paris; If it is then it would be excepted by their government as an official marriage. When you return to your country, if it is not legal there, then it will not be recognized as legal marriage; So, the answer would be no

She is French by the way.
It would be called a Civil Union, but(!) you do have the same rights as a hetero-sexual couple, that`s point though, right?
We were thinking of doing the same;
You still have to go get registered as heterosexuals do, then you can have your ceremony

serenity 		Dude, France banned gay marriage (and gay adoption) about 3 years ago. They do have domestic partnerships, but(!) that`s very basic. France is not the liberal society dimwitted US media wants you to believe. In fact, it`s darn right conservative in many ways. Showing women`s boobs on billboards doesn`t make you liberal, it only makes you a sexist. France also has many Muslims who are anti-gay. a few years ago openly gay mayor of Paris was stabbed by a Muslim. Why don`t we know about this stuff? Come on people. Use the Internet for more than downloading porn. You know US media will not disparrage Europe!
