Is the UK accepting towards gay people?

What is the most gay friendly place to live in the UK?

What are British peoples views on gay people? Can 2 men hold hands in public & will other Brits care?

Just curious.

Yes I assume so. We have a few famous & popular gay comedians in Alan Carr & Graham Norton. I don`t know about rest of the country but(!) in Manchester there is a `Gay Village` which is simple an area of Manchester city centre that has many gay friendly nightclubs;

No, i`m hetero-sexual but(!) it`s a good laugh, has a friendly atmosphere, you don`t find idiots throwing up everywhere & women flock there to have a good time also.

You`ll find many people don`t really care; We don`t notice much over here or at least pay attention to details. Yes you do get the odd morons like you would anywhere but(!) you`ll find people quick to defend ignorance; Homosexuality is seen as normal as any other hetero-sexual relationships. It`s even displayed openly on certain soaps (so i`m told) like Eastenders, Coronation Street (or Corrie for short) & Hollyoaks;

You could kiss, hold hands & laugh just like anyone. Like I said, we`re mostly wrapped up in our own lives to care too much. As long as you don`t flaunt your sexuality in peoples faces you shouldn`t have a problem with anyone here

I`d say we are generally quite accepting of homosexuality.
I wouldn`t look twice at 2 men holding hands,
but then I can`t speak for everyone.

on the whole people are (at least outwardly) accepting. what they might be thinking inside their heads could be very different. the younger generation have grown up with gay role models & have been taught there`s nothing wrong with being gay. however many of the older generation were not brought up in that atmosphere & either find it embarrassing, confusing or sometimes downright objectionable

I believe Brighton & Blackpool are both very gay friendly & that`s where a lot of gay people go to party. but(!) I think any area would be OK, except that in some very impoverished areas you can get some very homophobic & racist views expressed

I guess (being older) I find sight of 2 men holding hands a little unusual & may be amusing, but(!) I wouldn`t find it offensive

It depends on the people & the area. In say, central London, people wouldn`t look twice at 2 men holding hands, but(!) in an impoverished part of Liverpool, they may get comments or funny looks!

Most British people are very accepting, as many will have gay friends or relatives; Young people especially have grown up seeing gay people in media & portrayed in positive light, so won`t think twice about it! There are also many openly gay people in the media
