Why do employers allow `gay` lifetime partners to obtain health insurance but(!) not hetero sexual lifetime

ouples choose not to get married for assorted reasons. Many employers offer health insurance to `gay couples` but(!) will not allow hetero-sexual unmarried couples same deal.

gaykerk 		I know of no corporation that allows benefits for same sex partners, but(!) denies it for hetero lifetime partners. That is because it would be discriminatory, & the corporate legal department would insist it be fixed

mensexonly 		I guess it`s because in most states, gays cannot marry. SO they offer the insurance to lifetime domestic partners; but(!) hetero people can marry & thus be entitled to the same; So I guess because the law is discriminatory in not allowing gays to marry, so are the insurance companies; My health insurance would allow me & my domestic partner of the same sex to file paperwork to have health insurance for us both. but(!) because I am straight, I have to wait for my boyfriend to pop the question before he can be on my insurance

gaymentop 		Two reasons-

1; If gays didn`t & heteros did, the gays would scream at the government about how they get `mis-treated`
2. Gays get HIV more often than straight people
