Open Question

Is passion/intensity intimidating to gay men/people?

I`m a young, (21) VERY passionate gay guy, & have been known to make a sailor or 2 cry with my mouth, not that I`m bragging lol, but(!) even when my passion is submerged, & I`m calm, I can`t seem to communicate my feelings well without coming across as `aloof/remote` & others, seem as if they`re `shell shocked` & won`t even approach me, & when I approach them (cordially mind you, I`m not always in bar fly mode lol) they get uneasy because I appear so inflexibly dignified (I don`t think I`m better than anyone, & I`d NEVER allow my ego to inflate based on a need for superiority/dominance over others), & really into the conversation. I care a great deal for people around me, but(!) I can`t help but(!) wonder if may be that intensity is running people off; I`m not a frivolous person, but(!) I do love to laugh, & joke, (albeit at the expense of dark/sexually based humor as most gay men do I`d like to think) & like really connecting with others. I ask, is passion frightening? Am I being perceived as `phony`? Mind you, I`m not changing it for anyone, but(!) your opinions are more than welcome.
