Why is gay love between men not as accepted as gay love between women. ?

I love being with a man & if you`ve done it & get into it, you know what I`m talking about, you just feel like you`re with someone you like, & not doing anything gay or straight or whatever. You just feel good.

torogay 		Whilst I appreciate your sentiments, I disagree that love between women is more accepted.

Yes, on a superficial level that appears to be case. With straight men claiming to be `okay` with lesbian porn (designed for straight market!) Also women holding hands, hugging & showing minor displays of affection is regarded as `part of being a woman`

However when it comes to the nitty gritty, I think people are just as `threatened` by female gay love as male; In some ways I think more so, because of the `strong` female stereotypes that prevail in lesbian culture. This instantly threatens some men, because here are seemingly self reliant, independent women, with no apparent need for men, very threatening!

However I agree that sexuality goes beyond labels & becomes about having strong, healthy relationship regardless of gender. However some people just can not seem to get their heads round relationships that appear to defy the man/woman dynamics. I don`t see that ever really changing!

serenity 		Typically, I think it is because men like watching women; Women watch other women all the time, everyday, & are their own biggest critics; Men do not watch other men, other than professionally; They could care less. For men, product is what`s appreciated. Men see other men that way unless or until there is competition, & then there is typically a war of some sort because sharing is incomprehensible unless conditions of submission are made obvious, or another war is on the horizon & welcomed;
I think this is a simple statement that could be expanded upon to answer your question

jimmygay 		I think you have to look at 2 things in action here. first 1 is the social impact & other is the religious impact;

When it comes to social impact you have to bear in mind that while although actually not really thought about much people still have stereotypes or roles for both men & women on society. Men should be tough, emotionless & hard working while women should be sensitive, express emotion & be nurturing. When it comes to gay love these roles can be sometimes reversed & men in particular just can`t get idea of showing affection (of any kind!) to another man around their heads! I don`t think it`s a fault of their own because all you have to do is walk onto down any street or go into any playground & you`ll see how both mothers & fathers `condition` young boys to behave; As for women while although not been completely accepted yet very few people shun on 2 women expressing affection because that`s what women do! It`s completely double standards & I argue that to the tilt but(!) you might as well be banging your head off brick wall!

The second is the influence of religion & the church. I think that people take religion & the teachings of the church too seriously & as a result ALOT or misinterpretations have resulted from it. the unfortunate thing is that from our early years we`re taught that the bible should never be questioned so we don`t & we depend on church to guide us along the way. As a result we learn that the bible condemns homosexuality but(!) we`re never given the full story. I think it`s because of huge influence of the church that ALOT of religious people have become to condemn homosexuality & this has spread like wildfire through the world; So in short, I think that alot of people only see being gay as a sexual act & forget or deliberatly leave out companionship side of it & this is what causes so much hostility; I`ll agree with you that being gay is absolutely wonderful & natural but(!) try arguing that with a priest or someone who`s been brought up under a huge catholic ruling family! I actually remember overhearing a priest (i`m in Ireland btw) on day as I came out of mass saying that Jesus condemns homosexuality. Now i`m no expert on the bible but(!) from research that I have done & with a little help from my Aunt who just happens to be a Nun I`ve discoverd that Theologists worldwide ultimately agree that Jesus said absolutly NOTHIING about homosexuality! So there you go, it just shows how the word of mouth in a powerful capacity can be so damaging.

twinklover 		This makes no sense whasoever to me, but(!) honestly I`ve found being lesbian is more widely accepted because most people (men in particular) find it `hot` or attractive. lot of people refer to it as `girl on girl` type stuff; It`s ridiculous, I know

torogay 		hetero men find women attractive, many men find women on women attractive, hetero women are attacted to hetero men, but(!) can appreciate the attractiveness of women due to constant comparisons made, men can do the same as above, but(!) not the their extent, hetero men can have anal sex with a hetero woman & it is fine, but(!) appalling when 2 men do it in their opinions, many ignornat heteros imagine male on male sex to be rough, hairy, violent, crude, & bloody, I don`t know why, but(!) this is what I am told, because men are traditionally less curvy & soft as women, larger, harrier, sweatier, & masculine, they are less attractive in hetero male`s eyes in regard to gay sex, but(!) not women on women, which is a soft, sensual, & never violent act because women, for they are fragile creatures in their minds, sadly, you can never change the haters, it`s impossible, you can`t argue with the unwilling. in my opinion, male on male sex is most erotic & passionate of sexual couplings, & I feel your pain

Everyone experiences some kind of homosexual thoughts around puberty & such. That`s just common curiosity for you along with your hormones running wild.

At this point, many guys don`t like to think about doing stuff with another guy since 1 has to `take it` & other has to `give it`; thought of `taking it` doesn`t appeal to many of these young teens & it can mess with thought of their masculinity & being in control.

So instead of picturing themselves with another male, they will picture 2 females together. They get the experience of a homosexual relationship by watching 2 females practice sex;

This is, however, only a speculation
