What rights do straight people have that gay people dont?

Im doing a report & I cannot really think of any rights that straight people have that gays don`t besides marriage, but(!) that`s only in some states; Sources, if any, would be helpful as well;

Straight people can marry person they love, in most states gay people can`t.

And marraige isn`t just 1 thing. More than 1,000 federal rights are attached to marriage.

Straight people don`t need to hide their sexual orientation in order to serve in the military.

Straight people can donate blood

Hmm, good question, you can say quote `Everyone & Anyone & as of Everybody has the right to be free, speak their opinions, & be whoever they want in their lives. but(!) some have different beliefs, cultures, & history & it doesn`t matter if you are straight, gay, or bi-sexual, we are all 1 people as Brothers & Sisters of God. `

straight & gay people have the same right, there are privileges that some have that others don`t

. Neither marriage, blood donation, military service or adoption are rights, all of them have prerequisites that must be fulfilled ;

hospital visits & other things like it can simply be taken care of by signing a power of attourney just like any other unmarried partner; wills assign inheritance for both straights & gays. There is nothing that straights can do that gays can`t with a good lawyer

Well, let`s see. We can`t show PDA (Public Display of Affection), whereas straight people can; We can`t have our partner in the Emergency Room with us because they`re not a `legal spouse` or `relative` so if we`re dying we die alone without our partner present. We can`t get couples insurance *except for very few employers who are starting to offer it* - We can`t sign for any legal papers for 1 another because again, we are not recognized as `legal spouses` of 1 another. We are discriminated against moreso than straight people in the work place, schools, & clubs, & although it is `legal` for us to adopt children, we are put through a million times more hassel, paperwork & routine `inspections` than straight couples.

I`m sure I could think of more but(!) I`m already depressed enough with this much.

Good luck with your report

This has pretty huge list of rights that gay people can`t get from marriage, that straight marriages have.

Aside from that, gay people don`t have much freedom in being able to be open about their sexuality or who they are without the risk of discrimination

the don`t ask/don`t tell military policy says that gays can only be in military if no 1 knows you are gay

As far as actual rights go:

Marriage-
-Tax privileges
-Government benefits for those who are married
Ability to donate blood
Serving in military(for now)

Rights to visitation in hospitals, wills & such are not completely rights; These things are just as deniable for the hetero-sexual community as for the glbt community. When will is read, it can be contested in a court of law. restraining order can also keep person from visiting their loved 1 in hospital. It is sad, but(!) true

lets see here.

-marriage
-all the stuff that goes along with marriage like being able to sign legal stuff or being in the hospital room with your significant other
-being in military (don`t ask don`t tell policy)
-donating blood (which is ok for lesbians but(!) there are weird rules for guys)
-adopting children is a HUGE hassle, they put you through ton more than a straight couple

. there are more but(!) I can`t think of any. hope I helped

certain civil rights as in

> Don`t ask don`t tell
> There was a story about the Lesbian who couldn`t go to prom because she was gay so they canceled whole prom & kids were mad at her
>Gay men can`t donate blood in america,they can but(!) it`s written down that they cant
>Act one in Arkansas
Arkansas Unmarried Couple Adoption Ban (Act 1)

1. Medical decisions: gay people are not able to make serious medical decisions for their partner in an emergency. Instead, hospitals are often forced by state laws to consult the families despite that they may be estranged or hostile to the individual;
2. Death wishes: Partners have virtually no right to impact how death wishes are carried out which means they can even be over turned by the family despite a clear will; These can include custody decisions, funeral arrangements & real estate ownership decisions.
3; Legal testimony: This is two-fold; 1 is protection from having to testify against your partner if he or she is on trial, which legally married couples are not forced to do; the other is validity of defense testimony; Often a non-legal spouse’s testimony carries no more weight that a stranger.
4. Visitation rights: If partner is imprisoned, visitation rights can be denied on a whim; Families can even deny individuals the right to visit partner’s hospital bed or grave
