I am writing a paper on gay Rights tell me what you think; Please tell me if this paragraph is too long?

or just anything that you feel it needs or if I should change anything
There is an increasing number of children in today`s foster care system that are bounced around from foster home to foster home; There is also an increasing number of children in need of parenting in orphanages that would greatly benefit from loving guidance from anyone who is willing to take the time & provide loving care that most of these children are lacking. Being that homo-sexuals are human beings as well, they too share aspirations of 1 day becoming married & raising a family; just as those that identify themselves as heterosexuals. Among today`s land of the free it has become increasingly difficult for a homosexual to raise a child & even more so for a homosexual couple to raise a child as married couple; Recently a 47 year old man living in the state of Florida, where a state law exist that prohibits a homosexual from adopting child, has been serving as foster parent to 2 children & after growing increasingly found of the children had decided that he would like to adopt them. However the state law had prohibited him from doing so; He sued & trial court judge agreed, ruling ‘there was no evidence that gays & lesbians were less fit to parent than their straight peers` (no name? 8). Although the homosexual male in the case stated previously did win the court case based on fact that the judge agreed with him it still stands that there is a law in state of Florida that would otherwise prevent any willing human being from adopting child in much need of loving home; It seems that in the process of being spiteful towards those that identify themselves as homosexual the real victim in site are the children that don’t view love as color, gender, or sexual preference but(!) as gift. You can totally not like or agree but(!) explain why!

You have a lot of good ideas for a paper here. This is more like a brainstorm paragraph than a part of an essay. Pick 1 idea, leave your opinions out of it (as much as possible), be able to site your sources, & stay on track.

Just stick to the facts. It will help keep you from being contradictory. ie saying that, `it has become increasingly difficult for homo-sexuals to raise a child & even more so for a homosexual couple to raise a child as married couple. ` then immediately following with story where gay man wins a court case to keep custody of his foster child (children). It`s OK to show 2 sides of an argument as long as you state that you are doing so. But, it usually is best to stick to 1 argument. You should really narrow down your topic bit more. There are too many ideas in your paragraph, not enough organization, & not enough fact based information.

In order to help people to recognize a need for change or to help cause in anyway you have to show that you know what you are talking about. Be clear. Keep it simple;

If you want to talk about gay adoption then narrow down an aspect of that. Gay people can raise children just as well as any other type of parent (single parent, step parent, grandparent, straight adopted parent, mixed race parents; ) Or your topic could be about difficulty gay people are having with adoption. Whatever you choose just remember to stick to your topic or you`ll loose readers interest & defeat the purpose of trying to get people to see why things should change;

Get statistics from reputable sources, use psychology books that focus on families & parenting, there is a lot of new information out there that will be helpful with all these topics that you have brought up

I have put my changes in capital letters to make it easier to see. I think you could separate paragraph into 2 sections. You need to find `natural` separation point. I have chosen change in topic, i; e. in the first paragraph you talk about the need for foster children, & others, to have loving home; In the second paragraph you explain how attempting to adopt has been problematic for homosexual people;

I think you have explained it very well, just a few minor amendments - see the Capital Letters, & it is perfect

`There ARE an increasing number of children in today`s foster care system WHO are bounced around from foster home to foster home. There ARE also an increasing number of children in need of parenting in orphanages WHO would greatly benefit from loving guidance from anyone who is willing to take the time & provide the loving care that most of these children are lacking.

Being that homo-sexuals are human beings as well, MANY OF THEM share aspirations of 1 day GETTING married & raising a family; just as those WHO identify themselves as heterosexuals; Among today`s land of free it has become increasingly difficult for a homosexual TO BE GIVEN OPPORTUNITY TO raise a child & even more so for homosexual married couple; Recently, a 47 year old man living in state of Florida where a state law exist that prohibits a homosexual from adopting child, has been serving as foster parent to 2 children. NEW SENTENCE: After growing increasingly FOND of the children, he had decided that he would like to adopt them but(!) state law prohibited him from doing so. He sued & a trial court judge agreed WITH COMPLAINANT, ruling ‘there was no evidence that gays & lesbians were less fit to parent than their straight peers` (no name? 8). Although the homosexual male in the case (DELETE `STATED PREVIOUSLY`) did win the court case based on the fact that judge agreed with him, (COMMA) it still stands that there is law in state of Florida that would otherwise prevent any willing HOMOSEXUAL (DELETE `human being`) from adopting a child in much need of a loving home; It seems that in the process of being spiteful towards those that identify themselves as homosexual the real VICTIMS in SIGHT are the children, (INSERT COMMA) WHO don’t view love as color, gender, or sexual preference, but(!) as a gift`
