The constitution, Bill of Rights, & the Preamble all support union of same sex couples. Many conservative Christians argue that same sex marriages are unbiblical & should not be allowed; however, due to the First Amendment, in which it is stated, that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” makes the religious argument pretty much an irrelevant point. This is also why we have the separation of Church & State secularism. “The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges & Immunities of Citizens in several States; ` Is stated in Clause 1, which means that if couple is allowed to marry in Massachusetts, no other state should ignore that marriage license; Therefore, it also makes the DOMAs unconstitutional. the Federal Marriage Amendment (FDA) is also unconstitutional as stated in the Fourth article & the Ninth Amendment; Article 4 states: `Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in United States, & subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States & of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within It`s jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. `, & the ninth amendment states: `The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by people; In other words, this disallows who is granted the rights & privileges, & who doesn’t. In our societal efforts to make this ruling social & legal reality, we have made tremendous strides to end all forms of discrimination finally recognizing our fellow man & women’s rights as unalienable regardless of creed, religion, race, gender, & even sexual orientation. ” Even Declaration of Independence states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty & the pursuit of Happiness. ” If gay people want to get married, & that’s what makes them happy, so be it.

besides that, love is love. gay or straight It`s the same emotion. love doesnt see sex. it just sees love

jimmygay 		im all for it. Love is love & has nothing to do with gender. the government doesnt seem to want to recognize that we`re people, & we deserve every right that `normal` people have. Also, the government is saying that the bible says that marriage is between man & woman. but last time I checked, government & religion were not to be intertwined. anyway. bottom line, I`m for it

jimmygay 		There is no marriage for gays. Marriage is sacrament instituted by God where 2 souls are joined together & become one. What gays & people who marry outside church have is civil union, a contract

gaykerk 		There is difference between a legal marriage & a religious marriage.

A legal marriage is a legal contract between 2 people; To achieve this, you must go through the court system, which from my knowledge has nothing to do with a church/religion; Legal marriage plays no part in religion.

The issue I guess is people think gay marriage will force churches to allow gay marriage; No it will not! church can refuse to marry anyone because they can do what they want; but(!) their wishes should not dictate US policy.

Being gay is no more of a choice than having brown eyes. Both are biological. bible is a collection of fairy-tales written by men who did not know how the world worked. It is used to control people

Gay individuals just want equal rights under law; They are not trying to change religious dogma.

People who point to bible for evidence against gay marriage need to read the book little more closely. They like to pick & choose what to believe. It is quite sad; If something effects their life in someway, they say `We shouldnt take it literally; ` but(!) once something doesnt effect their lives, but(!) many others, they are all for it.
