Will I live to see gay marriage legalized in my life time?

I live in the USA (so called Land of the Free) & gay marriage is only legal in a few states.

Will I live to see all 50 states adopt gay marriage?

Me & my parents are planning on starting petition to get gay marriage legalized in Kansas; will it happen?

I should hope so

I never thought I`d live to see day when it was legal in UK

We`ve had it over 3 years now. & if an old-fashioned country so consumed by tradition such as Britain can get it, why the hell can`t a modern country like America?

Fingers crossed!

You will most likely not live to see all 50 states accept gay marriage; You may get to see Kansas accept it, but(!) currently there is a law banning gay marriages in Kansas. So I wish you luck with you petition

I think so.

The majority of younger Americans have no problem with it.

We just need to wait a few more years for older conservative voters to die off.

Even the `Bible Belt` will change because younger people in those states are generally more liberal than their parents.

Also, you will see more & more State Courts ruling that marriage discrimination violates the state constitution, as happened in Iowa

slowly but(!) surely change is happening; and I don`t think it will take more than five years or so for it to be legal in majority of the states

- How long do you think you are going to live ? If you are gay not very long. You will get some decease from your bf. No we don`t need gays calling it marriage. call it something else but(!) not marriage.
- Marriage means a Man & a Woman joining together to make a family; gay marriages needs to be outlaw. !

Just few years ago, I was quite sure that gay marriage was not going to be legalized in my lifetime (I`m 26) here in the `land of the free; `
But so far we have 6 states for it; I`m still convinced all 50 won`t be for it in my lifetime. Which is unfortunate to think that way, but(!) I`m realist & I know with certainty that our biggest problems are going to be the south. (where have I heard that before?Hmm)

I really do hope I`m wrong about all of this but(!) I just don`t see it happening quite honestly.

Edit: If I hear 1 more comment about the president being black I`ll hit the roof. He is not black, he is mixed race. He is caucasian & african-american. Why do people only see 1 side of him & ignore the other. He is this country`s first mixed-race president; Not too hard was it?!

It will eventually happen in every state, whether anybody likes it or not. Once we get Oklahoma, the biggest anti-gay state in America, then it`s time to take it to Supreme Court, & it will automatically be legal in every state

Unfortunately, I believe you will see it legalized in the majority of the USA. Look at how fast the the New England states have done it.

Like another post said before, you may not see it very soon in the south. I live in Mississippi and I hope my state will never legalize gay marriage.

I have 4 homo-sexuals in my family; I love them all but(!) do not condone their lifestyle.

I know I am in minority but(!) I trust GOD and we will all be judged by him; Everyone of us will.

`For the word of the cross is to those who are perishing foolishness,
but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God; ` one Corinthians 1:18
