Does Homosexuality have anything to do with AIDS?

So I was in class today & the teacher was teaching us about AIDS. I wasn`t really payin attention but(!) I think she was sayin stuff about homosexuality causin HIV & things like that; I was just wondering if that`s true because I live in a really homophobic country that even change education & text books to reflect that homo-sexuals are bad. etc
And I know HIV get transferred durin sexual intercourse [whether straight or gay] if one partner is infected; but(!) I don`t see something specific about homosexuality here.

jimmygay 		i think the stereotype is that gay people like to have a lot more sex than straight people, so diseases are more likely to spread around; who knows where HIV specifically came about, but(!) it would be ridiculous to point the finger at gay person (not IN the gay person you sick pervs)

charliegay 		The first population in which HIV, the virus that can lead to AIDS, was discovered in the US was gay men. Although we did not realize it at time, reason was that of all sexual activity, unprotected anal sex has highest risk of transmission of AIDS due to high risk of bleeding. (Eventually, other forms of sexual activity, sharing needles for drug use, & risk of transmission from mother to child during pregnancy, delivery, or breastfeeding were also discovered to be risk factors. )

HIV is not created just by two people having sex, whether it`s anal, vaginal, or oral; You can`t get AIDS from someone who does not have HIV; 1 person must have AIDS for the other person to catch it. the problem is that since there may not be any symptoms for years, you can`t tell if someone is infected just by looking at them; the only way to find out if you have AIDS is to get an AIDS test
