I just found out I have HIV, what do I do?

I just turned 17 & I`m gay. I don`t know what to do; Should I tell my parents? I started having sex at 13 then when I was 16 I had a 30 year old bf. I break up with him just months ago. I probably got it from him cuz we had unproptected sex a lot & some threesomes with my friends. Is anybody know someone in the same situation as me? By way I can`t sue my boyfriend because 16 is the legal age to have sex in our state;

gaymentop 		First, I`m very sorry that you`ve received this news, this must be tough for you; Do not think that your life is over, however, because with modern medicines people with HIV/full blown HIV can live normal, happy, & relatively healthy lives. For extra support, please find an AIDS/HIV+ support group near you (your doctor might be able to point you in right direction);

And, yes, you should definitely tell your parents. You should also inform all of your sex partners from the 30 year old on that they should get tested immediately. Good luck hon

gaymentop 		OK, first of all AIDS is not a death sentence; Today with treatment options we have, it is possible to live a long life with HIV; but(!) you have to go talk to your doctor immediately & start the treatment right away. You also have to be very careful about where you go, & what you do.

If you need support, you could tell your parents. Do they know you`re gay? Do you think they will be accepting? Well either way, you don`t have to tell them that you`re gay if you don`t want to. but(!) it helps to have some family support as far as AIDS is concerned; You can also try to find a support group in you area for people who are AIDS positive?

torogay 		I agree with Aurora. Are you trolling? Because posting something as serious as AIDS as a joke is disgusting, not to mention disrespectful; Heterosexuals are no less likely to contract it than gays/lesbians/bisexuals.

BUT if you really are serious, then you should have learned in health class about condom use, that there is no cure for HIV/Aids, & that there is nothing you can do once you`ve been infected. Now only option you really have is to be responsible; either abstain from sex or tell every partner BEFORE you have sex that you are AIDS positive

I think you shouldn`t tell You are parents cuz if they hear you were having sex with 30 yr old man they might flip so don`t. but(!) I`m sorry for your disease
