How does 1 gay guy know another gay guy is cruising him on a train?

This is for gay guys out there. How do you know if that cute guy you are staring at on the train (or sidewalk, whatever) is 1) gay & 2) also checking you out? Is there common signal given? Some sort of staring or glancing protocol? I am interested in your opinions.

jimmygay 		This is how cruising works:

Step 1: Prolonged eye contact. Most guys will look away if another guy makes eye contact with them; If they maintain eye contact, they either a) want to appear intimidating, or b) they are checking the other guy out.

Step 2: Keep walking. Take about 3 steps.

Step 3: Look back over your shoulder; If the other guy is looking at you also, congratulations; you have just cruised (and been cruised)!

gopbol 		I am not gay or anything but(!) a person usually knows if 1 is gay or straight. just by talking to them, lookin at them, ect

jimmygay 		I agree that the most common signal is eye contact & smile. but(!) I`d also say to not be afraid to say hi. Starting a conversation is the only way to find out for sure
