Rimming As**, what do you think?

I agreed with my boyfriend to do rimming & he does the same for me (gay couple).

Is there any health risk regarding this.

We have been together for 6 months now but(!) I know him as my best friend since 1 year & he is so honest with me;

I know about his past relationship that was year ago & now he is only with me.

He is healthy, in good shape & everything.

Can hepatitis virus might be in his body ?

You can contract Hep B or C from rimming an infected partner. You should both get tested for Hepatitus before you consider such high risk activities. It`s always good to know your status & if posisble, you may want to ask about getting vaccinated for Hep a and B & some doctors may even offer offlabel vaccination of Gardisil for gay men.

In addition, you should also be aware that there are certain bacteria that live in the colon that can migrate to your upper digestive system if you engage in rimming. This bacteria obviously does not belong in the upper digestive tract & although it can make you sick, it likely will not kill you or do any permanent injury;

Before rimming, you may consider taking a bath/shower & using an anal saline douche; Although this won`t make the activity any safer for you, it will improve the overall hygene of the situation

Their are different ways to get caught of hepatitis.

*Hepatitis (HAV), Hepatitis E (HEV) & possibly Hepatitis F (HFV)
Are transmitted by enteric, that is digestive or by fecal routes. the infected person passes the virus to another person who ingests a small amount of infected material. Poor hygiene & poor sanitary conditions in some countries lead to high rates of infection.

*Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis D (HDV), Hepatitis C (HCV), Hepatitis G (HGV) & TTV
These types of hepatitis are transmitted by parenteral route, parenteral meaning viruses introduced by all other routes except through the intestinal tract.

*Transmission of Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is transmitted through contaminated blood, sweat, tears, saliva, semen, saliva, vaginal secretions, menstrual blood & breast milk;

*Transmission of Hepatitis C
Hepatitis C is transmitted primarily blood to blood contact; person is infected by hepatitis C gets that persons blood into their blood stream;

*Transmission of hepatitis D
Hepatitis D is transmitted in the same way as hepatitis B; Hepatitis D can only exist with the hepatitis B virus & can be caught either at the same time as HBV (coinfection) this type is known to clear body well (90% to 95%).

But the best thing that everyone should do even if you are not experiencing symptoms, sexual educators & specialist recommend highly that all sexually active individuals get tested regularly; In fact the standard of regular STD testing is every three months, even if you are with same partner

Robert - Like most forms of sex between 2 people, rimming can be both pleasurable & risky, though rarely fatal by itself. I hope that now that the 2 of you have had at least 1 good screen for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) & that you each now have no other partners, before `play` you both need to be scrupulously clean - like showering & having a prior cleansing enema. Feces in & around the anal area can carry & transmit bacteria (like E. coli), viruses (like hepatitis A), & invisible parasite eggs (like pinworm & tapeworm); Other STIs are caught by other forms of sexual or skin contact. Because of the risks, some gays will avoid rimming for safer sexual pleasures. It`s your call. Stay informed
