Can gay people be good at football/soccer?

im gay myself - & I know this sounds really ignorant

but never ever have I come across gay person who has been good at football.

well I know some who play & watch but(!) arent great at playing

but is there any gay guys on here that are actually great at football/soccer?

im not saying It`s something gays cannot or don`t do - because I know were the same as straight people - & we can do what everyone else ca do

but in my experience - I always wanted to play football but(!) couldnt because my low self esteem (at the time because I was gay my self esteem was low & now I just cannot do it)) how am I offending? I just said I wasnt saying it in that way if you read, understood full question - you would see it was just `my experience` I never said they couldnt - I said I didnt know any & was curoius if there was any; & I clearly mentioned that I gays are same as everyone else & the same as straight people so read the question before you post an answer

twinklover 		dude there are plenty of gay guys in football;

alot of teams just don`t publically announce it because they are afraid the a typical redneck fan wouldn`t watch team if he knew it had homo-sexuals on it.

yet alot of the teammembers are cool with guy being gay. it isn`t a big deal.

plus the `omg there is a gay dude in lockerroom ` fear is removed because the pro athlete is use to having reporters ( of both sexes) in the lockerroom as they change. they are use to having reporters interview them while they are naked;

being a professional means just that. it in how you act & how you carry yourself; being gay to these guys isn`t big deal

I don`t think their sexuality matters if they are good at something or not. =)

If a gay male is good at soccer & he play vs straight male either 1 can win

gaymentop 		If you are bad at playing, it has nothing to do with you being gay. Athletic talent & sexuality have nothing to do with each other. Athletic talent & sex life may, but(!) the sex of your partner has nothing to do with it

gaynudist 		Really? I`ve been playing soccer since I was 5 years old on high competition teams; I play right wing forward, which is pretty good position, I guess.
I`m on my high school team & bunch of other competitive clubs & soccer organizations. I go to soccer camps all summer, & my teachers think I have a pretty good chance of getting scholarship. Esp; since I made high school varsity team in 9th grade

gopbol 		The starting quarterback at a Division 1A university all 4 years of his college career was gay & dating friend (in closet, of course);

Ten percent of jocks are gay, so ten percent of high performing jocks are gay. You`re just not good at picking them out

gopbol 		first I must respectfully correct you. the truth is you`ve never met any OPENLY gay players of these sports. How many teams are there in the NBA & NFL? & how many players on each team? It used to be believed that 1 in every 10 were LGB whether secretly or not. now It`s believed that it is 1 every twenty. Either way statistically speaking they are out there. & lets not take in consideration the millions of DL men who flawlessly pass in society as the epidemy of masculinity. They exist I can assure you. & it may surprise shock or amaze that sometimes it may even be the Best players in sport

torogay 		Of Course gay people can be good at playing football. Since when was this new rule of gays not being able to be good at football, don`t feel down in any way, gays can do whatever they want as long as you put your mind to it
