Are the feminine gays responsible for the vanity stereotype?

It seems that all the feminine gays are the ones that judge solely on apperanace & obsess over looking hot. They are those that go to the gym 5x week to maintain their `figure` LOL. masculine, laid-back guys don`t seem to care & are more interesting in having fun, playing sports, & drinking with guys. Then again, this type of behavior only happens in gay clubs, where it`s 90% feminine flamers!

torogay 		Yes; It is most obviously against the norm behavior & that`s why it stands out more & everyone focuses on it; I have known many gay men who don`t fit that stereotype at all

gaykerk 		Actually no - the masculine gays seem just as concerned about their appearance to me, they just don`t obsess over lip gloss & hair, they obsess over muscles/body fat;

It is in fact true that gay men are more concerned with their appearance than straight men, on average, & there`s very simple reason for that - men care about the physical attractiveness of potential partners WAY more than women. This is why straight women care about their appearance so much as well, because they`re trying to look good for straight men. While there are certainly gay men who don`t care that much about their appearance, most gay men recognize that physical attractiveness is an extremely important quality to their potential partners & therefore pay a great deal of attention to it

Dude you`re totally making me reconsider checking out gay club here where I live. First, the music is going to suck. Second, flamers aren`t my type at all. I like the masculine guys
