What can American gay people do to help glbt`s who are oppressed by their government at their end?

Countries located in the middle-east & many parts of asia have almost zero tolerance towards gay people; How can Americans who are a free nation, help oppressed who can`t express who they are in public at their end due to fear? We can`t be physically there for them, so what can we do?

mensexonly 		They have zero tolerance for almost anything, not just gays. Until people are willing to rise up against their own oppression, there`s not much that outsiders can do except pray & offer moral support. Meanwhile, we have miles to go ourselves before we can declare ourselves truly free

twinklover 		Keep doing what we have been doing, contacting our elected officials, write letters to our local newspapers, hold a March on Washington.

None of these things are new Ideas, but(!) persistance is key

charliegay 		Pray for them. Vote for representatives who promote open cultural exchange, which leads to a loosening of their restrictive cultures.

That`s about it, other than choosing to sponsor an asylum seeker in your home. may be marry a Persian lesbian, & then divorce her, once she`s legal, & she can marry a Persian gay man, etc., but(!) this is illegal & pretty risky

charliegay 		Uhhh. how about all of gay/bisexual/transgendered/etc, all stand up at once in this country & proclaim their true identities? That would be a great start- wouldn`t it?
