Am traveling to Thailand for 28 days, starting March 9, starting with few days in Bangkok,?

We want interesting trip without going to all tourist traps, we looked at Koh Samui & Koh Chang, & Chiang Mia but(!) everthing looks so westernized, any suggestion? we like beach bungalows & a few gay places would be ok too, we like jungles & mountains too. help, please we are leaving from Michigan USA SOON!

gaynudist 		Thailand is indeed very Westernized & quite modern. So much so that all Thais speak excellent English when they want something from you. This skill appears to disappear suddenly when they owe you;
Tip: Do NOT take a ride from the Limousine Taxi Company(people in orange uniforms) from Subrav. airport to downtown Bangkok. They will charge you nearly twice as much as a regular metered taxi, & there is no more luxury than a regular taxi either;
If you are looking for a jungle, better go to South Africa

jimmygay 		taxi fare is about 300/400 baht from airport to city. tell driver to use the new road where there is small toll to pay

jimmygay 		Why do so many people here want others to plan their holiday; Just come here & enjoy. Go woth flow. Arrange trips when here, some days you may just want to relax by pool or something

gopbol 		you already asked this question. unless there just happens to be 2 families traveling from Michigan to Thailand in March & both are looking for advice on AskGayMen answers. I already told you that Ko Chang is a beautiful island that is not over run by tourists; look at my previous answer for that, I`m not repeating myself. if you want true Thai flavor without western influence ; then there is simply 1 place to go. northeast Thailand. Khao Yai National Park, Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima). Phi Mai, Loei. of course none of those places have beaches or bungalows on the beach. but(!) neither does Chiang Mai & It`s on your list

gopbol 		Koh Chang is big island & only the western side of island is modernized. the whole eastern side of the island is deserted & has exactly what you are looking for in cheap bungalows. Try Lonely Beach Area on Koh Chang. You can rent moped 125cc for 200 thb per day & drive around whole island exploring waterfalls, beaches, mountains & jungle trekking.

Chiang Mai city is westernized yes, but(!) there are so many mountains just outside of Chiang Mai on the way to Chiang Rai, & tons & tons of waterfalls & nature to get lost in.

Samui too touristy for me.
