which city is cheaper & more interesting in 2009 fall, Berlin or Amsterdam?

2 of us adult gay men in our 40`s want to spend 1 week in an apartment & get the most bang for our buck. good food, trips, night life is not the main goal.

serenity 		I haven`t been to Berlin, but(!) Amsterdam is my favorite city of all time. & I`ve been to many places in the world; Barcelona, Seoul, etc,.
It`s absolutely beautiful, so much to see & do, excellent quality food & a great variety due to immigration, & the people are friendly. & it shouldn`t be too expensive going in the fall

serenity 		I`ve been to both, & would advise Amsterdam, of the 2 Amsterdam is more intimate & more scenic
