I`m not gay, but(!) I want to go on a gay Cruise?

My best friend is a lesbian, she lives with her partner & thier 2 childern; They are planning a vacation to go on a cruise, but(!) it`s a gay family cruise. They invited me to go along, but(!) I don`t know if it would be weird for me to go being as I`m not gay. I need advice and/or experiance about straight people on gay cruises.

Most people are probably going to be partners.

twinklover 		If you want to go you should go. I`m sure people there would understand. It`s cruise for them & there family. alot of people consider close friends part of there family; if anyone asks just explain to them your not gay your just there to spend time with your friends/family. I bet there will be some other straight people there with gay parents, or siblings maybe. Just don`t go expecting to hook up or anything, just go to have fun with your friends

twinklover 		Go & enjoy! There will be so many activities you won`t have time to feel weird; Just be yourself. Since it`s family cruise there probably isn`t going to be anyone looking to hook up. & if there is & they pick you, just nicely say no thank you & they should get hint.

I`m bisexual woman & I went on gay mens` cruise with some friends & had an amazing time. It`s huge floating community & when I wanted, there was always someone to play with; When I wanted to be alone, I would go back to my room or hang out in library;

If you`ve never been on a cruise before, IMHO, this is the best way to go.

gaykerk 		If it`s a family cruise, the emphasis will almost certainly be on relaxed socialising, not partying;

You might get couple of ladies show some interest, but(!) if you do it`s easy enough to decline politely.

If your friend thinks you`re `family` enough to invite, you have no reason to feel uncomfortable.

Family is family ~ we all have our black sheep, just in this case, it will be you, lol ;-)

jimmygay 		Ask cruise line, they should have a liason there, a person who is familiar with this type of situation, who has answered this question many, many, many times.

Straight people (parents, friends, siblings, etc. ) do go along on gay cruises sometimes, but(!) it`s always best to check the circumstances of cruise first before just hopping on, in case it might be a gay-only cruise, or it might not be appropriate for some reason

twinklover 		They have gay cruises? That`s freakin sweet! I need to remember that the next time I want to go on a cruise. I went on 1 after graduating high school & I think I`ll try to go on at least 1 more at some point in my life. I spent most of my time hanging out with the few queers on the Carnival cruise I was on; Some of them turned out to be jerks though, but(!) all the straight people were even less fun to hang out with; but(!) an entire cruise with queers would be a lot more fun than 1 with bunch of normals. but(!) yeah, like I said, I mainly hung out with queers, & although I call myself bi, I`m really very close to straight (heteroflexible I guess is best description) & they didn`t have problem with it. I`m sure plenty of straights go on those cruises

charliegay 		you don`t have to be gay to go on a gay cruise; If they are bringing their children it`s more of a gay family & friends type cruise. I have been on cruise with my family & it was all straight people on ship with the exception of few gay people, I was fine had a blast. Just think they live in a straight world & everywhere they go majority is straight,this will be a nice time to have their gay friendly family & friends along
