Is there a big gay scene in Europe? If so, what is it like?

Ok so I am going to study abroad in France my last 2 years of higschool at a relatives. I currently live in a conservative midwestern town, & with may be 8 gay students attending the local highschool, you could guess that I have had little to no gay experiences what so ever. I plan on relocating to Switzerland when I grow older & I would like to know how well adapted people are to LGBT in Europe & how easy it`d be to meet other LGBT teens.
- If I haven`t clarified i`m gay.

gopbol 		France is 1 of the most gay-friendly countries in europe.

Once I was traveling around France; When I got to Paris, I was sightseeing downtown & when I realized there was a bunch of 300 people at a gay pride (I must mention that there were some of the HOTTEST guys I have ever seen)
So yeah, you`re lucky!
Make most of it!

mensexonly 		Many large cities in Western Europe have a gay district of some kind. Although every country has it`s conservative & liberal regions, most are on whole okay with it. You might want to stay away from the Eastern European countries where all catholics are though

bobdilan 		Dude, you got loads; You got frikkin Amsterdam here in the big Euro! but(!) by far best is. wait; BRIGHTON (in England) i`d say about a 1/3 of people are gay, 3/5 are under 30, everyone is friendly & about 9/10 of the people see that being gay is just normal. Fucking A. It`s nice, got great night life, & you got the beaches & the lanes. x x x

bobdilan 		There are gay people all over world. There are also people who hate them & love them all over the world.

Eastern Europe & Islamic nations have less `openly gay` culture than western Europe;

A small town in France is going to be much like a small town in Germany & much like a small town in US. Big city all over the world usually have a thriving gay scene. Small towns usually don`t.

One thing you do need to watch out for is that people don`t take advantge of you. gay or straight, people are the same; There will be plenty of people who will want to use you & take advantage. Just choose your friends carefully & watch yourself. Never feel obligated. It something seems wrong, just go.
